318 not starting

A few days ago I glanced a curb, and the side airbags deployed. I drove to a friends house, and when I wanted to leave the care would not start. I then jump started it and drove elsewhere for supper, so it wouldn't have been the BST.

At my next destination it refused to start again, but this time it couldn't be jump started. The lights and radio, as well as locking work, but not the windows.

It doesn't turn over on the jump start, just clicks.

That I drove the indicates it works, and the loss of window power indicates a flat battery, but jump starting doesn't work.

Maybe we were just inept at jump starting?

You likely knocked a main battery cable loose, damaged your battery or knocked loose some fuses in you electrical box.

It sounds like thre is enough power to run lower amp draw items but there is not enough to run hi amp items. Windows are a hi amp item as is of course the starter.

If you hit hard enough to deploy airbags, you also should look at a wheel alignment.

I had the AA out last night and they managed to jumpstart the car (we just didn't have enough current previously) and further diagnosed a faulty alternator.

There have been reports of the side airbags deploying unnecessarily on these models. Since it is known, maybe I can go for warranty repairs.

I would figure the BST would have gone with the airbags.
