316 Compact E46 spark plug cover - BMW Forum

Hello folks, glad to have found this forum. I'm having trouble getting the cover off to get to the plugs on the above car. I only had a few minutes to have a quick go, but it appears to be catching at the rear of the cylinder head. Is there a knack to removing the cover to gain access to the plugs?

To answer my own question, it is necessary to remove the pollen filter cover, then the filter itself, and then its housing. With that lot out of the way, the cover can be removed to gain access to the plugs.
Hope this helps someone else in the future.

Thanks for the hint ...I have a 318ti and was wondering if the removal of the pollen filter would help...thanx heaps ..have nice Christmas
