So I have a 2005 330CI ZHP that has started to rattle from the left rear when I hit a bump. I checked my bushings, sway bar etc all look good. For good measure I have replaced the shock as well. Still getting the noise. It sounds almost like it is higher up around the shoulder level in the car but clearly coming when the left rear hits a bump...any ideas?
Well I didn't see a crack or anything like that on it anywhere it all looked good... I think I will still take it to the local BMW dealer to see if I am missing something. If it is that then they will fix it...AND the dealer I bought it from specializes in BMW's and he said they check subframes in all E46's before he buys 'em. If it turns out not to be that any other things pop into mind?
I just wanted to update in case someone has a similar issue. Thankfully it was not the subframe. It ended up being a loose bolt on the control arm. Tightened it all up and no more rattle thank god.
