I posted a previous post asking where I could get clear corners and tail lights and was directed to www.bavauto.com. I went on this website and found that it would cost me over $500 to clear the front and back. I work at a BMW dealership and know that BMW doesn't sell clear lights for E46 after the 2001 model because they weren't DOT approved. I talked to a sales representative at Bavarian Autosport and was reassured that the lights were indeed OEM. How are they selling OEM lights for a 2004 when BMW dealerships dont have them? Are they aftermarket? Also, are there any other online or retail stores in the Los Angeles area that would have these parts? Thanks.
I believe its not the clears that make them not DOT approved, it is the bulbs you put in them. Many companies produce bulbs that emit a amber light when activated, unlike stock bulbs which are clear, just turn amber via the lens.
Sylvania has bulbs for clears, which are a blue tint when off, and a nice amber dot legal color when on. www.bimmian.com also offers another brand, which is an amber bulb painted silver, with slits in it.
Also, i am told via many bimmer owners, that it is best to get the OEM clears, and not cheap knockoffs. Apparently they will have fitment issues, and problems with water getting inside the housings. As much as it hurts to spend 500 bux on these lights, in my opinion, its worth it.

My friend works at the Concord BMW parts and they have clear lights for E46 up to year 2002.
They have clear side signal lights for 2003, but not the front ones. He told me they should get it by the end of this year.
I am going to order from Bavauto.com. For 2003 325 fronts, side and rear lights would cost about $475 with shipping. But if you wait for the dealership it's cheaper.
I too, think that the Titanium would look better. Remember that it is a personnal opinion and that you might like it better in the black. Do what you like the best.
