2004 325i navigation

Hey guys, i am new to this site, and i am just wondering if you could help me out with some info. I have a 2004 325i, and it has a regular radio in it, with the harmon/kardon speakers. I am looking to swap the stock radio out with a navigation unit. I found a couple units on ebay, they are actual bmw navigations. I am just curious as to what else i would need, and if this would work. On the dashboard i have the radio, and right under the radio is the climate controls, and they are both in the same "compartment" per say. Then under those are two little storage areas. The navigation unit looks like it will take up the whole space where the radio and the climate controls are. So would i have to move the climate controls down and have it replace one of the storage compartments? they all appear to be the same with and height. Also, will the factory plugs from the radio plug right into the navigation unit?
Thanks
