2003 330CI Pass. Door - BMW Forum

Ok so me and the wife yesterday went to the gym and she had no problem opening the passager side door going to the gym but when we left the gym about 2.5 hours later she could not open the door but the door opens from the inside just not the outside handle. Does anyone know how I can fix this or is this a take to the dealership?

you will have to pull off the door panel, there is usually a cable that connects to the inner and outer door handle, its possible that it just came out of place....its usually a steel cable with a little steel ball on the end that holds it on. to remove the door panel theres usually a few screws then the rest is held on by clips, pretty easy to remove

i had the exact same problem with my 2001 330. Turns out the cable came loose(broke off). So i fixed that problem. BUT...after the lock mechanism actually broke, causing the same symptoms.

Cost me $400 to fix. Lock motor in door was replaced.
