2002 E46 318i - error codes P2776 and P278a HELP

Hi guys,
I am new to the forum and after browsing the site for a while, i did find some error codes but they would say the ones i've been looking for, so any help would be appreciated.

The Error codes i got from my local garage are :

P2776
P278A

and this is for my 2002 Registered BMW E46 318i


Ive been in a minor accident and since then the Temperature guage in the dashboard went off the hook. It continuously displays temperature of -40 C to +50 C outside the car. It also emits a high pitched Beep from going to +50 from -40. Other than that there are no warning lights.

My BM now shivers a little bit as well. I wonder now, if these problems are connected.

Did they tell you by any chance what the scanner said they mean. The Codes that come out of the scanner are normally wrong but the description is correct.

Be careful these codes are not BMW's double check with a different local shop or a diff. scanner, the cheap BMW book from auto zone show BMW codes P00011-P0700 and there is any po code in the range of P0 1000....
