I recently purchased an '01 325xi and am loving it. The cornering is ridiculous and the performance in the snow up here in Canada is perfect without sacrificing the RWD sensation. But one thing I don't like is the stock 16" rims... I was thinking about putting snows and turning those into my winter rims and purchasing some hamann 19" rims for the summer... my only question is whether the car can handle that? if not, will it take an 18"? I know it will take a 17", but if its just for the summer, then I might as well go for something bigger, no?

Any input would be appreciated.

Cheers,
Mo

Hmm, I'm guessing you can fit 19's but suspect you may have to do some shaving. Just make sure you go to a reputable shop that will make sure you are set up right and not just sell you rims that look good. I did that the first time with one of my Civics and I rubbed like a mofo. Be a cryin shame with such a piece of art like your Bimmer.

With that said, my rule of thumb when buying rims was to go two inches up from stock and that never caused any issues for me.

When you get your rims, make sure to throw up some pics... B)
