2001 320D SE alarm not working - BMW Forum

Anyone help me out here ?

My key remote locks the doors etc but the alarm isn't arming like it should. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I can only presume there's a loose wire or connection somewhere but i'm a new bmw owner so i've no idea where to look to fix it.
Any ideas ?

I'd check the door and trunk (boot) etc. switches; the alarm won't set if something appears to be not fully closed.

I've had a good slam of all the doors and boot etc and the damn thing seems to be working now, cheers for the advice mate. i think its the boot thats the problem. where is the switch on the boot and doors that i need to adjust ? all i can see is hydraulic arms that hold the boot up but nothing much else.
Once again thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
