Hi everyone, my 2000 e46 323ci convertible is making some noice like broiling water! and I think it's coming from the belts under the hood in front of the engine. Does anyone knows if it's a big problem? cheap to fix? or anything that can help? it's really really annoying. ghead

So, is it rattling noise or like a boiling water, that`s big diff. Is it happening all the time or when the engine is a very hot ? Did you check fluid level in power stering reservoir? Lot of question , before any body can try to figure out it !

the same thing happened to me before i had to have my water pump replaced. does it sound like a bunch of marbles rolling round? how many miles are on the car?
Yea it's the water pump! i had it replaced too and luckily i still have warranty cuz it's a certified pre-owned extened warranty. but then they found another problem from my car that my front right control arm is messed up from pot holes and said that both rear thrust rods are bent. and would cost me 1700 to replace it. you guys think it's a reasonable price from dealer? or should i go to any auto mechanic?
Last week, I test drove a 323Ci just like yours, and I was wondering if your gas pedal (to accelerate) is heavy? Because I've driven almost everything....and it seemed awkward to me.
yea its heavy and i notice theres a difference from my 2000 323ci and my bro's 2001 325xi r different. my pedal have a lil stick hangin from the top to the pedal and my bros pedal hav the stick behind it to the ground.
