The other day I went to check my ATF fluid level and noticed it was a bit low. The fluid was barely touching the bottom of the dipstick. The dipstick seems to have a step in it where I'm assuming the fluid level should be? Is this correct? Can anyone post a pic or link showing me where the ATF Fluid level should be? This is on a 2000 328i. Thanks.

What fluid did you check ?!!! There is no dipstick on 328 i 2000. so you can not check ATF by yourself. The only way to check it up is from the bottom of your car, but it can be done by bmw dealer or service station who works on bmw cars.Good Luck !
There's a resevoir on the front driver's side of the engine that reads "Use ATF Only" and although it is pictured in the manual, it is not identified. I don't know what else would use ATF other than the transmission.
That is the power steering reservoir. If it was low check for leaks at the pump.
