hi all,
going to look at one on saturday for girlfriend, it's hitting 94k miles - is there anything that could be problematic soon, and what should i look out for?

Just kiddin bro.....just drive the damn thing and if you have any testosterone youll know if its right or not. More often than not if you have been driving enough....all you need to know about a car os to get behind the wheel and drive a few miles. Besides that do a VIN check.....www.bimmerforums.com has a thread going where a guy uses a software to tell you your VIN numbers history. Its under E-46 section of the forums. Its free but may not last long.

Obvious lemon indicators should be looked for.....obvious paint covering (yes i have seen people do that to cover minor scratches).....look at tires and brakes......(almost 2000$ if you have to replace them as soon as you get the car)....! Besides that dont forget to have sex inside a bimmer......always rocks.....especially if its leather.....:lol: !

i'm a 3rd year mechanic, not too worried about obvious stuff - was wondering about mass-air flow meter or injector problems (any major fuel system problems) or any recalls the car should have had.

Dude I aint scared of her....(mainly because I am across the pond from you...lol).

Anyways looks like you should be able to find the recalls and stuff from a cursory google search. Mass air flow sensor and the O2 sensor WILL GO BAD. Now if it hasnt yet or has and been changed, the only way to to know is to get the history of your car from a dealer or a friend on the inside of a BMW shop. Rest I am sure you have all the bases covered......oh and dont buy any warranty shit.....save the money for the repairs you are gonna HAVE to make sooner or later.

Also you are in Europe.....you would have some environmental conditions to looks at too....i know the things are pretty different from here in the states.
