im thinking of buying my 1st bmw ,this car is a 2000 328i. sport package 44,000 miles ,leather int., how u guys review this car with the others 3 series?
Hey lex,
I don't have anything to compare to since this is my first BMW, but I bought my 00 328I back in decmeber and I love it. It had 48k when I bought it and it has 58k on it now. Mine has the premium package w/xenons and leather. The only problem I had with it was the VANOS needed replacement about a month after I bought it. It was expensive but at least it was covered under warranty. I am very glad I bought it and would highly recommend it.
[im thinking of buying but dont know which one is better for me , i would like to spend about 16000 i try getting a 330 but the price are still hi ,thats why im thinking of the 328i. there are so many and dont know which way to go on the 3 series , i hope i get some info i here.
A 330i would still be above $20k. Only a high mileage one could be found for less. My 328i cost $20k even (after taxes and crap), but it came with a Dinan Stage1 suspension upgrade. I would recommend the 328i, as mentioned in ur other post....
Like vtr1000 mentioned. The only REAL problem with the 328i from 1999 to 2000 is the vanos. It can be reprogramed for $100+ (temp fix)or replace the whole damn thing for $1500+. If you get it with the warranty, I wouldn't worry. It's a good car. Finding one isn't really that hard.... got to ur local dealer to find one with a warranty, of if you want to save some money, go to autotrader.com and find one like that, thats what I did.

I recently convinced my fraternity brother to buy that exact same car (2000 328i leather, sport package, but with about 65,000 miles on it, sadly automatic) and he is loving every bit of it. His only regret is that he couldnt buy the coupe because insurance was too expensive. Other than that he absolutely loves it and we enjoy takign it out. He has yet to have any problems with it and enjoy spending hours just doing research on possible future upgrades.
Good Luck and you will enjoy it no doubt.
