1st gear popped out - BMW Forum

This happened about 3-4 times this month. When I put it in 1st gear and proceed to go, the tranny does a mild grinding noise and then pops out of gear. Could this be because I'm not putting it in gear all the way or is there anything else wrong with it? TIA

Has it been cold? I have the same issue soetimes, usually in third thogh. From what I can tell it's because I'm releasing the clutch before the gear is fully engaged.

how does the clutch feel? Where does it release Does it release at the floor, half way or almost all the way up? Sounds like you've either got a clutch issue or a synchro issue.

Usually when it's cold. It happens as soon as I release the clutch (at the floor). The clutch feels good, it's brand new.

Something sure isn't right then. It's possible there is a synchro problem. In fact, there was a bulletin on your complaint at one time. Hey, didn't you just have a motor put in?
