Since you have a 99 you will have to purchase a tool to do this like the 1 from peake, or you can search for others on ebay. Also there is a method of grounding pin #7 at the diagnostic connector under the hood for i think its 7 secs for oil service and 11 secs for inspection reset. If you do a google search on this topic im sure you will find more than enough info

Hi,
I tried shorting pin 7 to ground but this did not work.
The oil service mileage is still counting down, now counting negative mileage.
I guess I need the reset tool?

Regards,
Dan........

you need to short it with the key on in positiion 2 ...not sure if i mentioned that before. If that doesnt work then yes you will need to purchase the tool or pay a shop with the tool to reset the lamps for you. If your lucky they may even do it for free.
