17" tires for '99 328i

I recently purchased a '99 328i and found out this car had 4 different tires! I would like to know what type of tires to go with on this car. I would like to know what type of performance tires to get. I realize that performance tires wear out faster than regular tires. Therefore, I would also like to know what other tires are out there that would be the best compromise between performance and longer life.

My 2000 328 has 17" tires...225/45. As for what kind of tires to purchase, there will many differing opinions, cost, wear, performance....you'll have a wide variety to choose from. Mine has Continentals. The members are quite knowledgable.

225/45R17s fit your vehicle if you have the 17" option, if not they will be smaller.

A VERY good all season sport tire is the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S, you have to hit some pretty deep water to hydroplane, and even then you only do so for a split second, dry road is superb handling, and supposedly they are decent on snow(havent had any to test that). They are very expensive at aproximately $200+ per tire, but I love them. Oh and they have a sick tread design too

You can also go with the plain Michelin Pilot Sports, which come on new 330 ZHPs. There is always the Continental tires, which come stock on almost all E46s.

I have seen others reccomend a Yokohoma tire, but i cant remember the tire style.

225/45/17 at the front
245/40/17 at the back
Michelin Pilot Sports would be good enough, $275 each!
well, all i can say is the best tires i never used b4
i tested on the dry, rain!
