08 328i Coupe, adding a subwoofer

I want to add a sub woofer to my car, but I heard that it is very hard to do it on BMW. Is it really?my car do no include premium sound, anyone done it before?

in an 08 it should be no problem. it's harder to do in older bimmers because where the trunk meets the back of the seat it is reinforced with metal so you need to drill through it....but an 08 probably wouldn't have that problem

Putting in a sub in a BMW is not that hard. You can buy boxes with or with out speakers and amps if need.

I have like absolutely none knowledge about cars...
what do you mean by aftermarket head units? I did not change anything with my car ever.

I heard if I want to add a subwoofer in your car, I need to install an amp first.
or it is different with bmw ?

"Aftermarket" Radios are ones you buy from a store or the like. So if you still have the org. radio in your BMW, then it is not "aftermarket". If you would like to add a sub, box, and amp to the car, I would suggest going to a store like Best Buy, Circuit City, Tweeter, some thing like that, or a place you would trust and HAS good knowage about your BMW. So don't get the kid next door to put your equipment in.

But you will need a amp, sub speaker, box to fit your car, and a wiring kit to wire to the battey, ground it, and to a line remote, also if you don't have a aftermarket radio you will need a speaker tap box and RCA cables for to go from the amp to the tap box, and speaker wire to go from the amp to the sub.
