Is there a difference between what the dealer recommends and what is best for the tranny? I have 30K on my '03 325i and I don't want the auto tranny crapping out at 100K because of lack of maintenance. Thanks!
The folks over at Bavarian Autosport recommend a tranny drain-n-fill every 60,000 miles max. I believe they noted not to flush, only to drain. I've heard flushing can lead to dried gaskets and seals.

Anyone have a link to a DIY on ATF changeouts for the auto tranny in an '03 325i? Drain from the bottom of the pan and refill at the front of the engine bay? Which ATF?
Page 7. Make sure to get the correct type of ATF, there are several.
