for about 2 hundred dollars or so u can go to the dealership and they will put a ipod interface into ur stereo. I had it in my car and i LOVE it
all the buttons on ur steering wheel work for it and everything.
i have a 2002 325xi as well

You have several options. You can install the BMW auxiliary input kit or the iPod interface kit. They are both available here: BMW Accessory Catalog - Original BMW Parts and Accessories

Bavarian Autosport (BMW Parts and BMW Accessories | Bavarian Autosport) also has an aftermarket option that uses the CD changer port and serves as an iPod interface and an extra auxiliary input. Go to their site and enter part number PA12BMW in the search box.

Any f these is an easy install.

I'd go with the one from bavauto. Give them a call to confirm compatibility.
