| 02 325 failed CA emissions..any ideas? Hello,
Tester states the SES came on and flickered during test, which is not something I have observed while driving, tho sometimes it comes on steady and then goes out later like a gas cap error would.
Particulate matter tests were high (NO in parts per million):
NO maximum:414 car measures 1055 (15MPH)
NO maximum:701 car measures 804 (25MPH)
There was an "OBD Communications failure". The smog test machine would not communicate with the car. A smaller OBD checker indicated at least 4 codes but would not read them. Again, no SES light on dash for me.
Also: the tester indicated the car felt a little hesitant/skipping which I also do not observe.
This is a 2002 325Ci Convertible with a little over 106K on the clock. The oil/filter has been changed within the last 1000 miles. As far as I know it contains the original spark plugs (car purchased with about 75K miles on it)
I have a slow leak in the radiator/coolant system which I add water to each morning. This I have not been able to diagnose yet, but keep bandaging it with fresh water in the radiator. I only have a 2-3 mile commute in town.

That was yesterday...
Now, today I am confronted with a skipping engine and SERVICE ENGINE SOON lit up. It reset and ran ok for a few minutes after a restart, but then started again 2 miles down the road and stalled while pulling into a parking space.
I can't attempt to check the codes until after work so I will edit the post if something shows up on the scanner.
I welcome any input or things to check in the meantime. Thanks! |
