You Never Heard This!

Hey Guys,

I'm sure you never heard this. We have the Bimmer and a 2000 Dodge Caravan, both have different brands of aftermarket keyless entry systems. If I press the van's remote too long, the bimmer responds to the signal and either locks or unlocks the doors!!! Not only that, after it does this, it does not respond to it's own remote anymore for about a couple of days!!!!! (Does it wait for 10-15 starts or a specified period of time or something?) How the hell can I fix this? Can I change the frequency or something?

Thats what you get with aftermarket. Read the manual on codelearning. I'd be willing to bet the module in the bimmer is learned by depressing the remote for a long time, and as a result it picks up the dodges signal and uses that instead of its own code.

The best fix is to buy a better system.

I guess you are right. The bimmer's remote has a separate button called "Program" though. I guess I'll try to change the van's remote. back to the manual. Thanks El Presidente. By the way, I like your "it's raining" thread.....lol.
