Once in a while lookin at pictures of E36's, I see some with yellow headlight casing. The outside glass part on the headlights is yellow. Does anyone know where I can find me a pair because I think those are preaty sick.
whenever i see a drift video i usually see someone with yellow head lights... what is the point of this? i know that yellow is good for fog lights, but low and high beams? it it pure looks or what?

They are used for track use mostly. The problem with Yellow lenses and not yellow bulbs is the filtering. I need to learn more on this to find the numbers but i'll take a shto at it. Yellow has a differnt wavelength. It is on the low end of the spectrum whereas bulbs and HID's and whatnot are at the middle-upper end of the bell shaped spectrum. The biggest issue with usign a yellow housing/filter is you will defintely cut down on light intensity because the only passable light is everythign to the left of where the yellow is on the lower end of the bell shaped spectrum. Yo are loosing a lot of intensity because of the yellow mask. Now if you had bulbs that could match up with this wavelength and which were met for yellow lenses then chances are you won't loose much of the intensity.
Anyone know the numbers?

if it was tape its so their headlights dont get cracked. if it was yellow lenses some drift people use them so their lights arent so bright, becusae in drift challenges you have to be right on someones ass and if your lights are really bright the person in front will get light in their eye cutting down their vision... thats what i know, now yellow lenses not for drift.. iono

No problem, I personally have used Lamin-x, super easy to use and durable, I like the thicker 3M tape better, here's a old pic when I had yellow fogs for the french look on my e36.
those are damn huge! i bet they're 19's. shiiiiiiit, maybe even 20's! those are hellabig. but anyways, i like the yellow fogs, but i don't know if i'll do it to my 325.
I found this picture on the Lamin-x site, and I think this looks extremely good. My car wont look as good as this e46 m3, but it will be still preaty cool and unique.
Just remember your vision will most likely suffer form these Yellow Headlights and I am not entirely sure they are legal for headlamps in the state you live in. They ar elegal for Fog light's I am sure but I have never seen them on headlights on the street before.

GT race cars in ALMS and Grand AM series have the yellow lights to differentiate themselves from the other classes of cars on the track. If you're in an LMP car and the lights behind you are yellow, they shouldn't be catching you
