So, putting the engine back together and I bought the Victor Reinz head gasket kit. In it is the following. I haven't the foggiest as to what this gasket this is for. I didn't see anything like it when I was taking the M42 apart....
If you know what it is I'd be very appreciative if you could share the knowledge!

Where on the Intake Manifold? It's not from the head to the lower manifold and it's not from the lower manifold to the upper manifold.
Granted, It has to be on that general side of the engine. It's rubber, not metal or composite.

Looks like it would fit over spark plug holes on the inner valve cover, odd though, I thought they were individual rubber seals.....

They are. The Kit came with those specificaly. The only thing I can really think of is if the kit is universal for 318 engines. Maybe when you order the one for the M42, you get the seals for that and the M44. I dunno.

Was refering to the possibility that maybe it's an intake gasket for the m44, not sparkplug gasket. Sorry if that was confusing. Fact of the matter is, I still don't know what it's for. Anymore ideas?

Not a clue brother; I've looked through the parts catalog for every version and engine ever put in any sort of 318 and to be honest it looks like nothing. hah
I googled M42 gasket kit pictures and it's in every one.
Still no clue!
