Wow a car for me that isnt 800 miles away

So i finally found an e36 325is in madison wisconsin. One that i can actually drive to without having to take off work or fly out. But he is listing it a little higher then what i have seen this car going for elsewhere. What do you think? Here is the ebay link. car Am i stupid to think that i should expect $5500-6000 for this car?

I don't know about the price...but the guy selling it seems ghetto the way he writes...also, he said its a 5 speed and then listed it as automatic...and the specs are for 189 BHP at 5500....not 190....

That would require a lot of talking between the two.. and a test drive.. .if not more than one test drive.. and an inspection before I'd give money.

I've bought several cars off ebay, including my '96 ti, and EACH one I purchased was started at a price near its value - in the end, no one bid on them, so I called afterwards (like 3-4 days) and then talked the price down some, then went and drove 'em, bargained some, inspected, etc.

Chances are, this car won't sell because it's really not much of an auction. Remember, too, that a lot of people bail on ebay auctions (I've sold several cars too, and about 1/2 of them needed to be relisted).

This guys price doesn't seem completely unreasonable, but it is a high starting price for ebay. In the end, however, the car's value is determined by you...

The car does look clean though, and if the truth be told that he just purchased it from his Lawer (guess thats how Dawgs say lawyer these days) then it might be worth taking a look.

Another thought...I buy and sell a lot of cars simply because I like to drive something different all the time. The reason I use ebay is because I live in the middle of nowhere. Each of the cars I've purchased off of ebay had more extensive issues than was listed. I was glad I was looking at them in a non-bidding situation (since the auctions had ended) because there wasn't any pressure.

I'm always leary when someone near a populated area is selling their car on ebay. Unless it's a rare or exotic type of vehicle, the seller is posting it there for a reason. Just my opinion, but as we all know, even little things add up quickly.
