ok so I recently bought a 1992 bmw 318i and after about a 2 weeks the rear doors wont open from the inside or outside, and the windows and sunroof wont work. I can open the front two doors but only with the key. When I open the doors the light wont come on anymore either, and today the dashboard lights wont come on. I checked the fuses and the the little button next to the steering wheel and there both fine. I was told that it could be a comfort relay, is this true? thanks!!!
I have ready many posts about where the comfort relay is. I pulled the kick panel out and found the starter relay on the side wall and a little rack that was suppose to have the comfort relay and the accident relay in it. It only has the accident relay. Where could the comfort relay be on my car. I have a 1994 325i convertible.
i had the same problem , the fix was the comfort control module.. under the passide dash ..way up in there..good luck .its a quuick fix , so dont panic..

I think I read somewhere that the comfort relay on the vert's were mounted behind the glove box........
johnny,
Edit: Pelican Forums......said behind glove box on the verts.....
yes its behind the glove box , u have to take the glove box out and whats under also has to come out so u can work comfortable ..its a small black box.. theres relays and also the small black box which is called the comfort control module.. alot of times it gets wet and stops working .. no windows, no power door locks, and no power sun roof.. u can call the dealer and ask what that parts cost and you see.. i changed mines last year and had no problems ever since.. i thought it was the relay also but it wasnt.. remember relay reset themselfs.. unless its no good any more..
I originally looked for the light blue relay under the driver side kick panel and it wasn't there. So I pulled the glove box out and there is no light blue relay there either. But, you said it was the comfort control module and not the relay. There are a few black boxes behind the glove box. Which is the comfort control module? How much was it$$$?
