I know Maryland has tight laws about tinting but does anyone live here and know if they actually ticket for window tinting? I see a lot of cars with way more tint than what is legal. If anyone knows anything please help, I'm looking to tint pretty dark but I don't want to get tickets.

35% isn't too bad. It means 35% of the light outside is transmitted inside. If you put a 100W bulb near the car, you would only see 35W coming in. That's visaversa. It's not too dark. If you want it super dark 20 would be as low as I'd go. 5 would be rediculously dark and you couldn't see much at night.

I have 5% tint and it is perfectly fine . Majority of the states have 35% ghead tint rule. When ever i get pulled over, I usually turn my interior lights on so cops don't pay much attention to my tint . I say, if you gonna get a ticket for 20% tint, why not get for 5% tint. The amount is the same.

DISCLAIMER: Don't follow my advice if you live in any other state than Wisoncons, as cops here are pretty lax over window tinting laws.

I agree with not worrying about the tint, but 5% just isn't enough night light for me.
