Window tint

Im considering getting the windows tinted on my 98 318Ti. Friends that have got it done on their own cars have paid a variety of prices, fron 100 to 500. I know for sure that Im not gonna do it myself, I tend to mess up things like that!


What is an acceptable price for the winshield, 2 front and 2 back windows? The legal limit in WA is 32%, but I dont really care about that, Illl prob go 8 or 16%. How much have others on this forum paid for a tint-job? And what do you suggest as a good price?

I would pay 200 max. 25% is good enough to look good and not impair night vision.

i say get 5% for the back windows and get a less dark tint for the front. i got 5% in the rear and a 70% for the front for my car.

5 % for the back is hella hard to view out off... you cant see well when backing up, and you cant tell if a cop is behind you.

5% is limo tint and is illegal in most states. the legal limit in NC, where i live, is 35%. thats what i have in my front windows, but my back ones are 15%, lol

5% is the typical Limo tint. 20% is our legal limit here in Michigan, but I see a lot of people here that get 2% and 1% in the silver mirror tint.. It costs a fortune to get tho..

I know a guy in Redmond, (I think its Redmond), anyway, not too far away from Seattle who does sick window tints. Guy does and wins competitions and is hella cool. Pricier but definetly worth it.
No bubbles or anything when he did mine.

this is a bad pic, i shouldlnthave used flash, but as u can see, i have really dark tint all around, it might be 15% I dont know, i love it though, i live in texas and its great keeping out the heat. At night though its kinda hard to see some things, i can never see other people in other cars, but thats about it. I wouldnt go any darker.

i know! just go to home depot buy some black paint...and apply to your windows...voila you cant see shit :lol:

Yea, if possible let me know his phone number, address, name, etc...

Redmond isnt too far from my place, about 10 minutes from my city (Sammamish). Do you know how much he charges, like how pricy is pricy?

I think, but I'm not sure (4 months ago and Seattle short term memory....), I paid 400 for my 325i (4 door).
It depends on size of the car.
I don't remember name or anything but my buddy should have it.

Depends on the area where you live. In California where tint is illegal in the front windows it is expensive.

Here in S. Florida I got my car tinted 5% for 115$ using LUMAR tint.

And the front window they tinted 25 % and put a 5 % strip on top so COPS think the front is not tinted compared to the rest of the car

damn you guys are getting ripped off for your tint. i live in ca and i got my back and front windows tinted for 150. i don't think anyone should pay over 200 for their tint job.
