New bmw owner this might be a dumb question but on my 99 323is i push the window up and my window goes auto up then stops and goes back down then i hit it again and same thing happens so the only way i can get it to go up without stopping is holding the switch till it goes up. I know its not a big deal but its the fact that it does so. if anyone has any pointers let me know. thank.

This questions been asked many times. Don't mean to be rude, but run a search for your question before asking it, we've read this particular one at least 10 times.

Anyway, to answer your question, this is a common problem with e36's. It's just an electrical error. If you want your window to go up either tap it bit by bit, or just hold it down hard until it goes all the way up.

OR... this is a built in feature on E36s... if your window encounters an object when being rolled up... it will automatically stop.. and roll down like 3 inches. Make sure nothing is obstructing your window... then if that doesnt work.. sounds like you need a new switch.
