Will a trip computer work with my 316 ..?

Hi, I was looking around E-Bay on my break and spotted a trip computer for a E36 3 Series, I was wondering if it can be fitted to my E36 (97 316i Coupe), has no computer at present, just a clock...?

Underneath the clock/trip computer there is a hole. If you stick your finger in the hole and pull (slowly and carefully) the unit will slide out. Check to see if you have the harness that will plug into the trip computer. One harness plugs into the area behind the clock (right side) and one harness plugs into the left side for the trip stuff. I don't see why it would not work if the harness is there.

i dont think the 316 was retrofitted for an obc... i could be wrong thuogh... but i dont think it would work.
