Wider Wheels = Wondering? - BMW Forum

I bought a car about 6 weeks ago that needed a bit of work[BMW 328 1995] .Anyway i just cant seem to get the handling right it seems to wonder on A-B ROADS but ok on the motorway. I have changed the bottom arms on the front and there does not seem to be any movment in the rack anywere. It has had some aftermarket alloys put on [yes i have had them balanced and there is no uneven tyre were.] But i notice the standard alloy in the boot is a 15inch and the owner before me has put 18 inch on. Before i spend more money can anyone tell me if this could cause the problem. Thanks for any advice. neil.

Do you mean its sort of tracking or what??

not sure how to explain, it just feels fine one min the it sudenly wants to go left or right so you have to compensate.

when i switched from 15 to 18 I had to get an alignment, did you do that?

No alignment yet but tyres seem to be wearing the same but have just looked up the word tram lining and this seems to be a common problem when changing to wider,low profs.
