Why would anyone do this? Could you imaging what a sleeper an e36 with 1200 horsepower would be? OMG I would love to pull up to some porsche turbo and smoke him in my 4 door sedan.

All that money, why swap to a different manufactorer's engine, i read a while back, some company shoe-horned the 5liter V12 out of the BMW 850, into an e36. this guy is talking about charging $10,000+ to put a jap engine in youre bimmer. for that kind of money, i'm sure you'd be able to afford it a BMW850 V-12 engine swap, and probably have enough money left over to wack on 2 turbos, and get more HP than that Jap engine!

The 5.4L V12 itself is at least $15k. Plus, the turbos, other performance parts, chassis strengthening, and labor to make the car sorta reliable will cost at least another $30k. The 600lb engine will also make your car handle like crap. Fixing it will also cost WAY more than the Supra's 6. That's why we never see turbocharged 750's and 850's.
