Where Is The Radio Ground At? - BMW Forum

I have a screeching and humming noise from my speakers, either the speakers are blown, or the ground is loose somewhere.

I'd like to try to fix the ground problem before buying new speakers. Anybody know where the ground wire is located if there is one? Its for a 1992 325i, thanks for your help.

The ground wire should be bundled with the factory harness behind the HU...As to where it might terminate I don't have a clue. Seeing as how your car is 13 years old I'd bet the head unit itself is taking a nose dive. Mine was making a weird intermittent buzz (very loud) while listening to cassettes but fine while listening to the radio and CD's...

What can I say? It's hard to throw away all those old cassetts though I've got most of em' transferred to my computer as wave files so I can convert em' to them thar new fangled MP3's......................
