1995 325i convertible, power everything except it seems power door locks....it supposed to be standard on this model, buit i dont have the remote thingy, and CANNOT FOR THE LIFE OF ME fin the damn switch to lock nad unlock.

Hmmmm..... If you dont have that I would say maybe you dont have power locks which is very strange.

veryyyy odddd mine does not have that, but the vin decoder says i have power locks......plus my shift knob looks nothing like that...its a horizontal handle.

What happens if you pull up one of teh locks? Does the other one also unlock? What about when you lock your door? Does the passenger's door also lock? When you open the trunk/boot with the key, do the door locks also unlock? When you unlock the car from either door, does the other door also unlock? These are all the features of the power locks...

Maybe you have power locks, but no central locking system.

Edit: The first picture I posted is from a 1998 model, which uses a different shifter and (I think) different transmission.

I guess your car looks more like this:

I see no button there. I repeat my earlier thought: you may have power locks but no central locking.

my old bimmer was exactly like that....but the newer e36 like my 1998 328is has that exact button.....you should have power locks, but you just don't have that extra feature inside the car...

nope when i unlock the door only that door unlocks, maybe my power locks are all broken? maybe the fuse....the fuse was my problem for the obc maybe its the same here....

Rompster, my '94 325i convertible looks just like the last photo with the beige leather interior and the horizontal shift handle. I do not have a remote. The previous original owner tells me the car never had a remote. When lock/unlock my doors the other door and trunk lock/unlock. When I unlock my trunk, the doors do NOT unlock but when I lock it, the doors DO LOCK. I'm told this is normal behavior for my car.
