where is the baffle on 96 328i

hey guys
i just followed all the instructions and removed my airbox and now i am confused which hole is the baffle. Next to the cylinder which goes into the engine there are two plastic circles on the box, one small and one big. is this what i am looking for?

yes. remove the tube from the air box to debaffel.

but the tube is the snorkel isnt it ? thats the tube that connects the pipe coming in from the radiator.

No. the snorkle runs to the air box. the bafle is inside the airbox. They are two different pieces. I removed both....

Well you didn't really need to remove the whole airbox, but you want to follow the following complex diagram and remove the following...

that tube would just slide out and for some reason i assumed i had to cut something out so was confused. anyways mission complete and the car sounds great. Thanks mentors....

what do u mean both baffles. On my airbox only one thing would come out which is pointed in the pic. Pls lemme know which is the other baffle

In your pic, the beveled part of the plastic that goes to the Mass Air Flow sensor, there's another piece under that. I took both out.

didnt really catch that. you mean you cut the part of the plastic tube whick goes to the MAF sensor that extends into the airbox ? if you could point it out on the pic woukd be great.
ALso, I was debating about getting a cold air intake . do u guys recommend it ? also has anyone done it on a 96 328i cuz in order to get the filter behind the front bumper i would need to move the oil filter and horn out of the way to make room....any suggestions ?

some has a baffle coming off of the snorkel and another one before the MAF, i guess urs doesnt

ya i am not sure, cuz there is a tube which connects the big hole going into the MAP sensor and runs into the air box...seems like cutting it would be a b*tch thou.....thx again
