What are the bigges sized wheels i could put on my e36?
i have 18x7.5 right now and that fit fine but could i get 20's to fit?

That would mean you'll end up with extremely little rubber around them.
Just see to it that the total diameter isn't increased to much.

The width of the rim is determined by the width of the tire.

20 is doable, but if it recomendable is another issue.

on an E36..... 18's look the best, but 17's perform the best. i have 8.5" wide breyton 17" that don't rub with 235/40

Agreed. I have 17s and love them. I have seen people with 19s but never 20s. The 19s had problems with rubbing too. I think the 19s look too big for the car and look weird.

17s rock. I was planning to go 18 only because I wanted a BBK. Stupid 993 Turbo brakes don't fit under 17s.

I don't know how 20's will look like, just stick with 18's IMO (as biggest size)!

hey jshearer, where did you get those ///M 7 series wheels from. 17" my friends in the market at really likes those. whats the offset and all that. and also for my curiousity. I'm looking at chipping my 93 325is, how do you like ur chip, did it do alot? cheers

I believe you can do 19's but 20's would be far too difficult than it is worth. Watch the width but you'll probably need to roll your fenders if you havent already done so.
