Alright so today I got my wheels (no tires), looking great and all and then I go to try them on to see how they fit and how they look. Lugs go in fine and all...but now comes the problems I guess the offset or whatnot is a big difference from the stocks and now the inside of the rim is touching the strut.

So I need to know how big of shims should I use? Where can I get them? and also where can I get longer lug bolts?

BTW these are the wheels I got ...
Not those exact wheels I got the OEMs but the same look

The replica's would probably have fit no problem, but I would call your dealer and ask them about it. My dealer here has an employee that is real good and he will let you know what you need over the phone if he can.

mmm, if the link you listed is actually what you recieved (that's sometimes the problem with ebay purchases), they should work. I don't know how much variation there is between a 318 and 325 (regardling suspension), but with the 6cylinder equipped e36 cars, it's not until after a 37mm offset that you get into trouble with a 17" wheel.

But if indeed there isn't enough clearance, you can get wheel spacers and longer lugs from bavauto.com or bmpd.com. Both catalogs give you a chart to help you decide what size to buy, I'm guessing their website has the same.

I bought the rims without tires and just put them on to see if they fit.
