Wheel lock replacement!?

Hey everyone, I have a e36 '95 325i. So my problem is that someone broke into my car and one of the things they stole was the wheel lock key. I went to the local BMW dealer and asked if they could get me a part number by using a master wheel lock key kit. Apparently, the locks I have on there now are after market. I have been doing some research and they do make some universal wheel lock sets. However, I'm not really sure which size I would get. Has anyone had this problem before or does anyone have any suggestions of what I could do? Some of the tire stores I called said that they sometimes have to break off the lock...which I want to avoid. My rear tires are getting pretty bald so I need to figure something out fast. You normally can just hammer a slightly smaller socket over the wheel lock & then remove it.....this is if the wheel locks were not over tightened prior....
I have done this numerous times for friends & it has worked for me, without any damage involved!
