Whats the mormal operating temp for a 325i auto

I live in Las Vegas, nv and it gets well over 100 degrees here, i noticed that my car temperature gauge stays in the middle when im driving, but when im stopped it will raise to 3/4 then it comes back down by it self. Should i be worried or is this normal. the 325i is a 92 and it has about 174k miles.

Don't worry about it, it's quite normal. And sure the temperature will rise a little when having a/c in your car.

The manual says that the temp guage may sometimes go to the very left edge of the red zone. It also says that this is not something to be worried about. Sitting still makes the car warm up because there is no airflow past the engine. Don't worry unless it gets in the red.

Check your fan clutch. You could also add a different switch to your electric fan to make it kick on sooner.

It's getting warm because of what was already said, there's no airflow across the radiator.
