I've got a warning symbol on my dash lighting up - red light, circle with 2 sets of 3 dashed lines on either side. It's in the brake area to the left of the parking brake light. My car manual has a matching symbol - only it's yellow - and says it's a brake pads indicator. I assume it is for the brake pads, but since its red, not yellow, I wanted to make sure it's not something else.
By the way, if it is for thin brake pads, does it know front or back or just front only?
No, the light is red.......you will need to check both front & rear brakes, if the brakes are low you will need to replace the pads & the wear indicator.
johnny,
This post is to confirm that the light is red, that it is the pad wear indicator, that there is only one sensor in the front and one in the back, and that the sensor will need to be replaced when the brakes are replaced.
You will just have to get down there and look at your brakes to determine if the light tripped due t the front pads or rears.
