What is the reasonnable MPG?

I just installed the air intake on my 1992, 325i, I noticed that the Onboard Computer said i'm getting 21.2 MPG. I was getting 21.6 MPG before I installed the air intake. Now my check engine light is recently came on.

what color is the check engine light... and you are probablly driving it harder becasue of the CAI

Thank you for replied to my message. The check engine red light came on. Its must refer to O2 sensor.

Did you remove some air box sensors?

Yes, I did remove the airbox sensor and put it in the new air intake. The check engine light did not came on right after new air intake installled, the light came on like 6 weeks after. I did not ride very hard with the new air intake.

BTW 21.2 mpg is almost the same as 21.6 mpg. I wouldn't bother about that difference.

damn, my '92 only gets 17-18 freeway

Mine does 22 mpg. Freeway and village roads.

Ouch. I drive like a granny most of the time, and I've got the K&N filter, and the no clutched fan. Greennymachine, check your airfilter, I'd put my bottom dollar on it being dirty.
