Hey guys, I have had my e36 for a few days and am going to do the oil change tonight, but need to know what oil is the best to get around here...I know redline and some of those high dollar oils are good but no one sells that around here...whats the best to get at walmart or advance auto parts and whats the best weight?

you sure? i found that just under 7 litres of oil bring be to the top line on the dip stick (i hope fruity that you can read a dipstick properly hehehehehehe joking  )
im talking about my engine was completely drained all of the oil was gone every last bit and when i filled it back up i was reading the dipstick and i had to use almost all of the second bottle of lubro moly to bring it up to the line on the dipstick

My dad told me to use 20-50W because the older cars have more wear and tear on engine components and using a ticker oil will elliminate some "weird noises" coming from the car... also the ticker oil fills up scraps and abnormalities.
so should i take this mobile 1 synthetic 10w30 back and get a 15w30 or even a 20w30? im gonna need more anyways because i only bought one of the 5 quart bottles, im gonna have to buy another one...

20w30 is recommended to high mileage cars... if you have more than 100,000 miles on that car then it's advisable... which reminds me i have to change oil soon...
