What is this in my Trunk

I have a small enclosure latched in the trunk behind the right rear seat. It is just right of the past through. It has two plugs and some wiring. I do not know what it connects to. 1999 328i convertible wired for telephone and CD changer. It appears to be stereo wiring but I can not find it in any OEM parts listing or Bentley service manual. Thanks

Might it be the CD changer?

It might be the CD changer. I thought the CD changer was on the left side behind the side panel. This is where the tags for the CD changer and telephone. This has a Factory compartment with a latch that keeps this closed. Thanks

I've got a '94 325i and in my car, it's the CD changer.
