What kind of coolant?

This morning, my OBC tells me to check my coolant level... so being as smart as i am, i checked it.
It seemed to be a bit low so i added some Prestone coolant that was laying around, then added some tap water.
Is this ok?

Tap water will help rust things out alot quicker not to mention build up from such things as calcium and lime in tap water. You'll also want to get the same antifreeze as whats in the car already. For water you'll want to use distilled.

Basically use only that blue BMW coolant, and distilled water, nothing else.

You shouldn't mix different antifreeze types, it could gel causing a lot of problems in your coolant system. Zerex makes a clear antifreeze that can be mixed with all types if your ever in a pinch.
