89 octane cuz thats what it said in the manual lol
would getting a newer better exhaust and intake require me to use a higher grade fuel? Or does it just depend on what level of preformance I want and what I can afford lol.

89, 91 when i can afford it, and whoeer is using 87 should sell there bmw to someone that would treat it better, you are shaving years off her, not to mention the poor performance you must be feeling!
thats weird that some manuals are saying 89??? My manual says to use nothing lower than 91...interesting used
