I've been looking for new wheels for my bmw, and was wondering what you guys thought of these replicas I found on ebay?
Link

Is the price too much, Or is it a good deal? How much do the OEM one's weight, and whats a good weight for the replica ones?

And does anyone know where I could find other replicas of this same wheel style?

Huh that was odd I did copy and paste the full url, but it got shortened for some reason. It works now though, and thanks for pointing out the bad link.

aaarims.com or thewheelexchange.com doesnt have the M3 Lightweight wheels.

21 Pounds is average weight for most wheels. im sure the OEM original ones that came on the M3 LTW were much lighter though.

17" Breyton Inspirations are around 21 pounds and are a popular wheel.

Keep in mind Replicas will always be heavier than the orginals.

But yes, that is a good price for 4 wheels, make sure to check the feedback rating of the ebay seller you wish to buy from.

Do some research on replicas on this site, there has been a lot of discussion on this subject.

Also keep in mind that the original bmw wheels of that style said "motorsport" around the edge; if you are going for a truly authentic look.

see here:

http://app.infopia.com/Shop/Control/Produc...863558/vpcsid/0

i will probably end up with these:

the size i am aiming for is 17x8.5 all around so ive narrowed my choices quite a lot.

1994 BMW 325is // White // 5 Speed

Slotted Rotors // Hawk HPS Pads ///Motorsport Shifter // De-Baffled Airbox

I think the real LTWs say BMW MOTORSPORT (the ones I have)
not just MOTORSPORT on them. Would make sense because a replica cannot engrave BMW into a wheel (probably). Correct me if wrong.

92' 626 ES
88' Mazda Truck
92' VW passaat (sold)
93' BMW 325is
86' BMW 318is

They either said BMW Motorsport entirely or didn't say anything at all around them.

yup, always liked those rims, Rizla like those too, would like some split rims , currently replica M3 AC Shnitzer 17"'s on a E36 323i , although I always liked the Alpina spoke style as well, not seen them on a E36 though ; anyone got one ?

I've actually decided to get some OEM contours since those are in my price range and I think they look awesome. Thanks for the responses.

I have the same wheels.. the real ones don't say anything. You're thinking of a different M3 wheel which says BMW motorsport. It has a lot more spokes.
