What controls the windows to lower when opening/closing the door?

My 1994 325ic intermittenly decides NOT to lower the window about an inch when I open and close the driver/passenger door.

As you know, the windows normally go down about an inch and then go back up when the door is closed.

What do I need to replace to fix this issue? used:

Thanks!

The part you need is called a latch striker.

If you look at the door jam it is the part that the door latches to.
The latch striker has a button that is pressed when the door is closed causing the window to go up.
You can press the button with your finger to see its effects if you like.

Thank you... I will take a look at the Latch Striker for both doors since neither side goes down/up when you open/close the door.

Thanks... I will check the the door again since I couldn't find it. I guess I need to replace it for both doors since neither one opens/closes the window an inch when the doors are opened and closed.

I have the 93, that sensor is not in the door striker.

It's in the door behind the panel up near where
the door lock thing comes out (lock post or whatever).
