Hi all, I have a 94 325is 154k great shape bought used clean carfax, the only problem so far is the soaking wet floor on the right. I checked the plugs under the floorboard and they looked ok, I do have some silicone that is on the bottom right side of the windshield. Is there a way for water to get through from that area. I have not been able to determine if it is leaking just sitting or moving yet, thats next. Thanks all and Merry Christmas http://www.bimmerwerkz.com/forum/att...1&d=1166153599
Thanks for the quick reply, I thought door seals at first but they are new all around, not sure about the windshield. I am pretty sure its leaking in just sitting. My wife only drives 4-5 miles round trip and then it sits and with the amount of water I have removed it just does not seem to be driven far enough to have it get that wet. I sure wish I could see an exploded view of the right side dash, firewall area.
Your sunroof's drain may be clogged. The sunroof has four drain holes, one at each corner. If the drain for the front right corner is blocked, then water may spill into the firewall area, and find its way into the passenger cabin, in the are directly in front of you passenger door.
You could try just puring water down the drain hole I mentioned to test my hypthesis.
DRZ - Yeah, I have heard of that same problem too. I heard all you should need to do is put some compressed air to the drain and it should clean it out, but I haven't tried it. I actually think I have a clogged drain up there as well. If I figure out a good way to clean out the drain, I will let you know.
Good luck,
Paco
