Weird things

Hey guys 98 328i heater controls go on/off its weird itll be fine then all of a sudden shuts off. I mean the center part of the control (where you view the fan level ) shuts off whatever mode its in stays on but the fans also turn off then when I go turn switch it off (when its running ) sometimes it kicks on by itsself I dunno kinda weird. Has anyone seen this before, and what could be causing this ? BTW thanks for being there when people like me have these questions !!!!

Must be a loose connection somewhere.

When its off I try tapping arond control unit and it doesnt seem to do anything you know of anywhere else I should maybe tap around

I would only be guessing. I think I'd try a look at the wire harnesses under the dash.
