Weird problem :S with fuel. - BMW Forum

Hey!

Ok this weekend my car wouldn't start. Turn over and everything but it was missing just that last little bit. Sounded exactly like when it has no fuel. But the needle had just gone to E so there would have been at least 60km of driving left in the tank.

So anyway I went on about checking for all the normal things (fuel pump, crankshaft sensor...) but in the end just added a bit more fuel and it started!? It did take a lot of pushing it but it started and its been fine since.

The car was parked on pretty much level ground.

Any ideas what might have caused this?

I reset the trip meter as soon as the light first comes on, from there I can do 60km (37 miles) city driving. About 75km open road. At approx 10L/100km you do the maths

sounds you sucked up some junk...
