Weird Noise

Recently I have been noticing a weird clunking noise coming from the rear of my 328is when I turn at low speeds. It doesn't always occur but I was trying things out and it seems to occur more often when the clutch is pushed in while going through the turn. Any ideas what it could be?

Clutch pushed in, so no driveline load... and in a turn... that needs some thought.

Does it happen during acceleration, over bumps & braking hard.....2 things to check for sure are...... 1) the rear shock mounts & 2) the rear trailing arm bushings......links below:

Frankie's Web Site Deluxe

BMW E36 RTAB Without Special Tools

Symptoms of bad trailing arm bushings include side movement of the rear end under acceleration, general looseness of the rear over bumps, and abnormal tire wear. These bushings will start wearing out after about 50,000mi, give or take.

johnny,

p.s. also check the flex disc on the drive shaft:
